Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion

Also known as The Blue Mansion, this beautifully restored building was once the home of Cheong Fatt Tze, a well-known Chinese entrepreneur and politician in the late 19th century. It was built by skilled craftsmen from China and designed based on Feng Shui principles, showcasing the majesty and elegance of both Chinese and Western architecture. Cheong lived here with his family until his passing in 1916. Over time, the mansion fell into disrepair until a group of conservationists in Penang bought it in the early 1990s and restored it to its former glory.

Today, the mansion is a boutique hotel and has won multiple international awards for its restoration. You can explore this stunning landmark with daily tours or take a self-guided audio tour.
