Acknowledging the vast knowledge of our local experts, we offer versions of our heritage trails that can be intergrated into walking tours around heritage sites.

Welcome to the Ceritalah Tour Guide Resource Pack for George Town! This guide is designed to support tour guides in sharing the rich stories of Penang’s heritage, with a little help from digital technology. Whether you’re leading a tour around iconic landmarks or sharing local tales with visitors, we hope this pack offers some helpful tools to enhance your visitor's experience on site.
What’s Included? Augmented Reality (AR) Memory Boxes for 11 key heritage sites in George Town, accessed through the freely available Ceritalah app. Each Memory Box contains a collection of curated archival pictures related to that heritage site. For George Town, these sites include: Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Im Teng), Masjid Kapitan Keling, Sri Mahamariamman Temple, St. George’s Church, Chowrasta Market, Kong Thai Lai Kopitiam, Mohamed Meera Sahib, Moh Teng Pheow, Nyonya Koay, Beach Street, Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, Weld Quay.
The Resource Pack includes step-by-step instructions to prepare before the tour and guide visitors onsite; and tips and best practices for using the app with groups, ensuring a smooth and memorable tour experience.
