Penang Hill

Penang Hill, also known as Bukit Bendera, refers to a range of hills located in Air Itam. Its main peaks include Laksamana Hill, Tiger Hill, Flagstaff Hill and Government Hill, with Western Hill as the highest peak at 833 metres above sea level. The 130 million-year-old rainforest is home to rich biodiversity with a considerable number of endemic and endangered species, including the Exorhopalia ruficeps (parasitic plant), the Penang Slipper Orchid (Paphiopedilum barbatum) and the witch hazel (Maingaya malayana).

While Penang Hill has many things to offer, a visit to The Habitat enables you to experience nature with minimal impact on the environment. Look up and around, and you might even find a baby Langur (dusky leaf monkey) peeking at you from between the trees! All proceeds are channelled to The Habitat Foundation for continued conservation, environmental education and sustainable tourism efforts.
